The Basic Session ($150)

If you are on a budget then this is the package for you.   It includes 2 high quality 8×10 prints, those same two images in a high quality digital file and 8 more low resolution (good for sharing on Facebook or email but won’t give good quality prints) digital images.  You also have the option to buy the high quality digital versions of those 10 pictures for $25 per photograph.   The session is good for 2 animals and their people at one location and should take about 60 minutes.

The Standard ($300) and Deluxe ($500) Sessions

Here’s where my session fees differ from most pet (and people) photographers who will show your proofs and charge a fee for each print that you want ordered from the session (as I do for the basic session).

My fee for the standard and deluxe sessions include high-resolution digital copies of the ALL of the final pictures that make the cut, carefully formatted to the popular 4×6 and 8×10 formats.    If you are planning to print something larger, just let me know and I will also format for the size of your choice.

One of the main reasons that many photographers want to control the printing process is quality as our work is only as good as the printed product.    The best prints need colour calibration between the monitor where the editing takes place, the software used to do the editing AND the print shop where the prints are done.   I’ve done that with Costco’s photo studio in Peterborough.  As long as you take your prints there you will get the same high quality as if I had printed them myself and charged you $15-40 per print (depending on the size of print you were ordering) for a fraction of the printing cost AND you get the high quality digital file.  If you don’t have a COSTCO membership I can look after prints for you for a nominal fee.

The standard 1.5 hour session:

Covers up to three animals  and one location.  I guarantee at least 20 high quality images delivered to you on a CD.    The cost of the standard  session is $300.

The deluxe 2.5 hour session:

Covers up to three animals and up to three locations (subject to travel time) and I guarantee at least 40 high quality images delivered to you on a CD.  The cost of the deluxe session is $500.

Additional animals are $50 each, up two humans are welcomed to join for no extra cost.

Session fees cover creative consulting before and after the shoot, the on location photography, post shoot editing, and the CD with final images.  The fees also include my travel in a 60 km radius from my base in Peterborough, Ontario.  That covers a good part of the Kawartha Lakes area.  The cost for extra travel will be nominal.

Booking deposit

To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit of $100 is required. The balance is payable at the photographic session.  While the deposit is non-refundable it will not be lost if we need to reschedule our session for any reason.

About the Sessions

Maggie with her boneMark Muschett Pet Photography is about  fun, personalized sessions, designed to capture your pet’s true character, shot in your home, in a nearby park, or other suitable locations.

Success requires relaxed animals doing their thing and a good sense of how to capture their spirit in the photograph.   That means that I’ll start with you to plan (by phone or email) the “perfect” photo shoot, talking through potential locations, the type of settings you and your pet like, the style or styles you are looking for (check out my gallery for examples), etc.

On the day of the session, I’ll start by getting to know your pet, and having your pet get to know me.  That goes a long way when it comes time to start shooting.    After that it’s time for fun, and lots and lots of shooting in an exciting and dynamic way.  That’s the only way to guarantee that together we will get a number of wall worthy photographs from our session.

After our session is over I’ll take 7-14 days to individually process each image that makes the short list.
